Semi-Permanent Makeup Pre-Procedure & After care Advice

  • It is advisable to wear your normal makeup on the day of your permanent cosmetic procedure as it will give a clear indication to your technician of your preferences, expectations and of what you would like to achieve.

  • Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen before your treatment, as this can make your skin prone to bruising.

  • Do not however discontinue any medication without prior consent of your general practitioner.

  • A patch test will be required before undergoing the procedure unless waived upon request.

  • It is advisable not to drink alcohol the night before the procedure.

Spm Make up aftercare -

  • Try and protect your brow area from all forms of moisture. Do not get it wet. Try to minimise sweat. You can bathe and shower but try not to get soap, shampoo or water on the area.

  • Do not pick, touch or scratch the area. Healing wounds can become itchy and it is sometimes very tempting to scratch and pick at the area but this can cause scarring and in some cases the loss of pigment which will reduce the impact of the look.

  • Do not apply any make up or petroleum based products to the eyebrows for at least 10 days after your procedure. After the 10 days then start light.

  • Do not bleach, tint or dye the eyebrows for at least 1 month after your microblading procedure.

  • Do not pluck, thread or wax the eyebrows until they are fully healed.

  • You should refrain for partaking in any activity that is likely to make you sweat. Sweating can make the hair like strokes to appear faded and less defined.

  • Avoid any sun bathing including sunbeds, swimming pools, jacuzzis, hot tubs or saunas for up to 2 weeks after your procedure.

  • Do not apply anti acne topical medication to the area. Particularly those containing bleaching agents such as benzoyl peroxide.

Micro needling-derma pen aftercare & pre care

  • CLEAN – Use a soothing cleanser or face wash with tepid water to cleanse the face for the following 48 hours and gently dry the treated skin. Always make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area.

  • HEAL – Professional skincare is recommended post-treatment as the pharmaceutical grade properties are ideal to help heal the skin, but will also create a sterile skin, too. Resveratrol-based products can help soothe the skin and lessen irritation.

  • HYDRATE – Following your Dermapen treatment, your skin may feel drier than normal. HyaluronicAcid is an ideal ingredient to hydrate and restore the skin back to perfect balance.

  • STIMULATE – In the days following your Dermapen treatment, and as the skin starts to regenerate, collagen stimulating peptides are ideal to continue the stimulation.

  • MAKEUP – It is recommended that makeup should not be applied for 12 hours after the procedure. However, your practitioner may be able to supply you with specialized mineral makeup product that theyfeel would be suitable for use during this period. Do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if it is not clean.

  • PROTECT – Immediately after the procedure, apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with aSPF 30. A chemical-free sunscreen is highly recommended.

  • For at least 2 hours post treatment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol(Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything perceived as ‘active’ skincare.

  • Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 24 hours. No tanning beds.

  • Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.

  • No exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment. Sweating and gym environmentsare harmful, and may cause adverse reactions.

  • IT’S CRUCIAL THAT YOU

    DON’T CONSUME ALCOHOL

AT LEAST 24 HOURS BEFORE UNDERGOING BOTOX INJECTIONS, AS THE SUBSTANCE CAN THIN THE BLOOD AND INCREASE THE POSSIBILITY OF BRUISING.

  • YOU SHOULD ALSO

    AVOID

    MEDICATIONS

     LIKE BLOOD THINNERS OR ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES

  • LIKEWISE,

    AVOID SHAVING

IN THE AREA THAT WILL RECEIVE BOTOX (WHETHER WITH WAX, LASER OR CREAM), AS WELL AS

    AVOID PRODUCTS

WITH ‘ANTI-AGING’ SUBSTANCES, LIKE RETINOL, GLYCOLIC ACID, AND ALPHA HYDROXY ACID.

  • IN ADDITION, MAKE SURE

    YOU’RE NOT WEARING MAKEUP

ON THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE AND THAT YOU EAT WELL AS, OTHERWISE, YOU MIGHT FEEL LIGHTHEADED DURING THE TREATMENT.

THE BEST BOTOX AFTERCARE TIPS

AFTERCARE IS JUST AS IMPORTANT, IF NOT MORE, AS PRE-CARE, SO MAKE SURE YOU’RE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT BY DISCUSSING IT WITH YOUR DOCTOR.

  • SOME OF THE MOST COMMON AFTERCARE TIPS INCLUDE THE FACT THAT YOU

    DON’T WANT TO TOUCH

, MASSAGE OR RUB THE AFFECTED AREA IN ANY WAY FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS, SO AS TO PREVENT THE BOTOX FROM SPREADING TO OTHER MUSCLES.

  • ADDITIONALLY,

    AVOID STRENUOUS EXERCISE

    OR ACTIVITIES AS WELL, AND

    DON’T LIE DOWN

FOR, AT LEAST, FOUR HOURS AFTER THE PROCEDURE, SO THAT THE BOTOX WON’T MOVE TO OTHER AREAS.

  • DON’T UNDERGO OTHER TREATMENTS

, LIKE MICRODERMABRASION, FACIALS AND CHEMICAL PEELS AT LEAST 24 HOURS AFTER THE PROCEDURE AS WELL.

  • STAYING OUT OF THE SUN

FOR A WHILE IT’S ALSO A GOOD IDEA, AT LEAST UNTIL ANY REDNESS OR SWELLING HAS GONE DOWN.

  • A COLD PACK OR GEL CAN HELP YOU TO REDUCE SWELLING AND MINIMISE BRUISING, BUT IT’S IMPORTANT TO

    AVOID PRESSURE

, EVEN AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS, TO ENSURE THE SUCCESS OF THE BOTOX.
